Ledger from West Appomattox, Virginia, 1880-1902.

The first few pages of the ledger appear to contain notes or a draft of a letter by G.W. Inge describing his work with the Atlantic, Mississippi & Ohio Railroad Co., 1875-1881. The ledger also contains poetic quotations; physiology, and history exams, ca. 1885, diary entries, 1902, by [Mary Gilliam?] of West Appomattox, Va.; listing of items and prices [in an estate sale?] followed by lists of purchasers and their purchases; an outline of a course in English grammar; and physics notes of Mary G. Gilliam, 1902. The volume also contains some blank checks from the Bank of Appomattox and one cancelled check returned by the bank to J.B. Gilliam, 1910. The names Mary Gilliam and Mollie F. Inge appear on the inside covers.
